My name is Rob Petkau, I have an amazing wife, and son, and we live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I love to get out to the mountains, and I’m a huge Star Wars nut. For most of my adult life I have devoted myself to working as a pastor in a church context. I spent much of that time focusing on youth and young adults. After 14 years in full time pastoral ministry, I began to coach professionally part-time in 2009. In a sense – I have been coaching through all these years. Coaching has always been the way I chose to relate to people one on one, and is a natural strength for me. It wasn’t until 2009 that I started to engage official co-active coaching training with CTI, and in 2010 I began my own coaching practice. Serving as a coach for people gives me a tremendous sense of fulfillment.  It’s an amazing thing to know why I am on the planet. If you do not know why you’re here; consider hiring a coach.

I chose the name “Genesis” for my coaching business because I get to help my client come to life. What drives me is the desire to see a person realize who they are designed to be, and to be a force helping them step into that destiny. It’s profoundly rewarding to be a part of someone’s journey in this way. I fully expect that each coaching session I have can generate new life (genesis) for my client.
